R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Sydney Ritter, a senior at Groom High School, |
|
achieved great distinction by winning four medals in 1A competition |
|
at the 2019 University Interscholastic League Track & Field State |
|
Meet; and |
|
WHEREAS, Joining the top high school athletes in Texas at |
|
Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 10, Ms. Ritter turned in an |
|
exemplary performance; she soared 38 feet, 0.5 inches, to claim |
|
gold in the triple jump and recorded a distance of 16 feet, 4.75 |
|
inches, in the long jump to finish third; moreover, she sprinted to |
|
a silver-medal finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.89 |
|
seconds, and she secured a bronze medal in the 100-meter dash, |
|
crossing the line in 12.77 seconds; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Ritter's fine showing closed out an exceptional |
|
high school career in which she won a total of 12 medals at the state |
|
meet; and |
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for |
|
high school track & field athletes, Sydney Ritter has ably |
|
represented her school and community, and she will cherish her |
|
memories of her outstanding accomplishments for years to come; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Sydney Ritter on winning four |
|
medals at the 2019 UIL Track & Field State Meet and extend to her |
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Ritter as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
