R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Samantha Lynn Wilkinson has rendered invaluable |
|
|
service as policy director for the Texas House Democratic Caucus |
|
|
during the 86th Legislative Session; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since assuming this role, Ms. Wilkinson has |
|
|
fulfilled a number of important duties for the statewide caucus, |
|
|
including tracking legislation, providing legislative information |
|
|
and other support to caucus members, and coordinating with advocacy |
|
|
groups, allies, and stakeholders; her resourcefulness and |
|
|
initiative have earned her the high regard of her colleagues, and |
|
|
her contributions have greatly helped in furthering the goals of |
|
|
the caucus; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Wilkinson is a graduate of Trinity University, |
|
|
where she earned her bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in |
|
|
Spanish; she also studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain, and her |
|
|
academic achievements have included making the dean's list seven |
|
|
times and receiving the Outstanding Senior in Psychology Award in |
|
|
2017; before joining the staff of the Texas Legislature, she |
|
|
acquired experience working as a research assistant at Trinity |
|
|
University and The University of Texas at Austin; she has also given |
|
|
back to her community through several years of volunteer service |
|
|
with CASA of Travis County and the Inside Books Project in Austin; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Samantha Wilkinson has greatly benefited the |
|
|
members of the Texas House Democratic Caucus through her hard work, |
|
|
professionalism, and expertise, and she is indeed deserving of |
|
|
special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Samantha Lynn Wilkinson for her service |
|
|
as policy director for the Texas House Democratic Caucus and extend |
|
|
to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her |
|
|
endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Wilkinson as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
