R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Sydney Mahl has ably served her fellow Texans as an
  aide in the office of State Representative Chris Turner during the
  86th Legislative Session; and
         WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Mahl has provided vital
  assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; in
  addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public
  service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the
  issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; her responsibilities
  have included organizing the representative's schedule and
  attending weekly meetings with organizations and advocates on his
  behalf; and
         WHEREAS, A senior at The University of Texas at Austin,
  Ms. Mahl is completing her bachelor's degree in journalism with a
  minor in business; she served as an administrative intern for the
  Texas Advocacy Project, and she has benefited UT Student Government
  as an out-of-state student liaison; in addition, she has written
  for The Daily Texan and other publications; and
         WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her
  duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is
  indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Sydney Mahl for her service as a
  legislative aide in the office of State Representative Chris Turner
  and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all
  her endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Mahl as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
