R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Bell Amarillo Assembly Center is celebrating its
  20th anniversary in 2019, providing a fitting opportunity to pay
  tribute to its success; and
         WHEREAS, Bell's history in Amarillo dates back to 1968, when
  the company opened a repair modification plant in the city; the
  facility closed in 1990, and in 1998, Bell announced that it would
  manufacture a new aircraft in Amarillo; and
         WHEREAS, In March 1999, work began on the V-22 Osprey
  tiltrotor, and the following October, the first Osprey made its
  maiden test flight; since then, the company has delivered nearly
  400 Bell Boeing V-22 tiltrotors, and the aircraft's increased
  speed, range, and endurance have transformed the way the United
  States military plans and executes its missions; and
         WHEREAS, In addition, the team in Amarillo has historically
  produced OH-58, UH-1Y, and AH-1Z military helicopters, and the
  company is currently developing other impressive aircraft; these
  include the Bell 525, which promises to be the world's most advanced
  commercial helicopter, and the Bell V-280 tiltrotor, which is
  expected to shape the future of U.S. Army aviation; and
         WHEREAS, For two decades, the Bell Amarillo Assembly Center
  has produced some of the finest helicopters in the world, and the
  company and its dedicated employees may take great pride in their
  outstanding record of achievement; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Bell
  Amarillo Assembly Center and extend to all those associated with
  the company sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Bell Amarillo Assembly Center as an expression of
  high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
