R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Students from Ropes High School distinguished
  themselves through their participation in the 2019 University
  Interscholastic League Academic State Meet, which took place in
  Austin on May 3 and 4; and
         WHEREAS, In the Class 1A calculator applications event, the
  Ropes team took third place overall, with Sayer Senter finishing in
  fourth place, Jabree Clabaugh in eighth, Payton Medlock in
  eleventh, and Jenna Nalle in the top 25; moreover, Deidra Burke
  claimed sixth place in the copy editing competition, and the Ropes
  team came in third in the theatre event and finished 19th in the
  journalism contest; and
         WHEREAS, By earning the right to compete in the state's
  premier high school academic competition, these bright young Texans
  have ably represented their school and community, and the
  dedication they have demonstrated is sure to serve them well in the
  years ahead; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend the members of the Ropes High School UIL
  academics team for their participation in the 2019 state meet and
  extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
