R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their |
|
memories of Jeffrey C. Weiss of Houston, who passed away on April |
|
22, 2019, at the age of 65; and |
|
WHEREAS, Jeff Weiss was born in Detroit, Michigan, on |
|
November 7, 1953, to Betty Eddings and Carl Helwig, and he was |
|
raised by Joseph E. Weiss; after earning his bachelor's degree in |
|
economics from Michigan State University, he entered the financial |
|
industry, working first at E. F. Hutton and later concluding his |
|
career at Raymond James Financial; and |
|
WHEREAS, From an early age, Mr. Weiss loved flying, and he |
|
began pursuing his passion for aviation in 1977; he went on to log |
|
more than 5,600 flight hours and held certification as an Airline |
|
Transport Pilot, the highest level of aircraft pilot certification; |
|
always willing to offer his time, aircraft, and experience to those |
|
in need, he volunteered with a number of notable organizations, |
|
including Angel Flight South Central, Experimental Aviation |
|
Association Young Eagles, and Pilots N Paws, among others; in |
|
addition, he was a member of the Aircraft Owners & Pilots |
|
Association and the AOPA Foundation, as well as the National |
|
Business Aviation Association, the Commemorative Air Force, and the |
|
1940 Air Terminal Museum advisory board of directors; and |
|
WHEREAS, Jeff Weiss lived a caring and purposeful life, and |
|
he will long be remembered with deep affection by all who held him |
|
close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Jeffrey C. Weiss and |
|
extend sincere condolences to his loved ones: to his significant |
|
other, Helen Nguyen; to his mother, Betty J. Weiss; to his sisters, |
|
Debra Frensley and her husband, Kenneth, and Cheryl Bourchier and |
|
her husband, Mark; to his half-sister, Lori Helwig McGeachy; to his |
|
stepdaughter, Jacqwelin Snyder, and her husband, Cliff; to his |
|
stepson, Jerrad Smith; and to his other relatives and friends; and, |
|
be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jeffrey C. |
|
Weiss. |
