R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|
passing of longtime educator Stella Ruth Whisenhant Tipton of |
|
Humble on May 16, 2019, at the age of 92; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on May 12, 1927, to Sadie and Paul Whisenhant, |
|
the former Ruth Whisenhant grew up with the companionship of a |
|
sister, Pauline; she went on to enjoy a 28-year career as a teacher |
|
with the Humble Independent School District, where she touched the |
|
lives of countless students; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Tipton was preceded in death by her husband, |
|
Arthur I. Tipton, with whom she shared a rewarding marriage that |
|
spanned 65 years; she was the devoted mother of three children, Ted, |
|
Terri, and Tammy, and was further blessed with 8 grandchildren and |
|
17 great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ruth Tipton made a meaningful difference in the |
|
lives of her loved ones and her many students, and she will long be |
|
remembered with warmth and affection by all who had the good fortune |
|
to know her; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Stella Ruth |
|
Whisenhant Tipton and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her |
|
family: to her children, Ted Tipton and his wife, Nancy, Terri |
|
Holder and her husband, Marc, and Tammy McKnight and her husband, |
|
Jeff; to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and to her |
|
other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ruth |
|
Tipton. |
