R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The baseball team from San Jacinto Christian Academy
  in Amarillo closed out an unforgettable year by winning the 2019
  Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Division IV
  state championship; and
         WHEREAS, Following an impressive performance in the regular
  season, the Patriots continued to excel in the playoffs, defeating
  Sherman Texoma Christian School and Watauga Harvest Christian
  Academy to reach the state semifinals; in that contest, a three-run
  double lifted the team to a 4-1 win over The Covenant School of
  Dallas and earned San Jacinto Christian a spot in the state title
  game for the second time in the past seven years; and
         WHEREAS, Competing for the Division IV crown on May 17 at The
  Ballparks In Crosby, the Patriots faced a talented team from New
  Braunfels Christian Academy; San Jacinto Christian's hot-hitting
  offense delivered a pair of two-run doubles for a 4-0 advantage
  after four innings, but New Braunfels cut the lead to two runs in
  the fifth frame; the Patriots responded with a run in the sixth and
  then relied on their stellar pitching to seal the victory;
  triumphing by the final score of 5-3, the San Jacinto Christian
  players claimed the coveted state championship and closed out the
  season with an outstanding record of 21 wins, 9 losses, and 1 tie;
  and
         WHEREAS, The Patriots excelled with a true team effort,
  receiving valuable contributions throughout the 2019 campaign from
  each member of the roster: Hunter Dawson, David Derrick, Will
  Franklin, Douglas George, Graham Hollis, Jayton Hollis, Hogan Karr,
  Austin Konnecke, Cody Konnecke, Antonio Langen, Logan May, Zeke
  Mills, Kyler Moreno, Cameron Smith, Damon Sooter, Matthew Turner,
  Shane Villagomez, and Spencer Wallace; these determined athletes
  were guided by head coach Mike Fuller and assistant coaches Jared
  Fuller, Gene Marcum, and Korbin Richardson; and
         WHEREAS, Winning a state championship represents the
  culmination of countless hours of hard work and an unwavering
  commitment to excellence, and the Patriot players will treasure the
  memory of this accomplishment for the rest of their lives; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the San Jacinto Christian Academy
  baseball team on winning the 2019 TAPPS Division IV state
  championship and extend to the players, coaches, and staff sincere
  best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Patriots as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
