R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The members of the Morton High School boys' golf |
|
|
team distinguished themselves through their participation in the |
|
|
2019 University Interscholastic League Golf State Tournament; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the state's other top 1A squads at Lions |
|
|
Municipal Golf Course in Austin on May 20 and 21, the Morton team |
|
|
included Ethan Boggs, Nash Willingham, Malachi Villareal, Blayne |
|
|
DeBusk, and Xeno Garza; they shot a combined score of 773 over two |
|
|
days of play to claim seventh place; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By earning the right to compete in the state's |
|
|
premier showcase for high school golfers, these dedicated young |
|
|
Texans have ably represented their school and community, and they |
|
|
may indeed reflect with pride on their notable accomplishments; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Morton High School boys' golf |
|
|
team on its participation in the 2019 UIL Golf State Tournament and |
|
|
extend to the players sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
