A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to designating May 18 as School Shooting Victims |
|
|
Remembrance Day. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 662, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 662.071 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 662.071. SCHOOL SHOOTING VICTIMS REMEMBRANCE DAY. (a) |
|
|
May 18 is School Shooting Victims Remembrance Day to remember and |
|
|
honor the students, faculty, and staff who have lost their lives in |
|
|
school shootings throughout the country. |
|
|
(b) School Shooting Victims Remembrance Day shall be |
|
|
regularly observed by appropriate ceremonies and activities. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
