A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the designation of an emergency management planner by |
|
|
state agencies. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 418, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 418.0055 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 418.0055. EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLANNER; TRAINING |
|
|
REQUIRED. (a) In this section, "state agency" has the meaning |
|
|
assigned by Section 411.0251. |
|
|
(b) Each state agency shall designate a full-time employee |
|
|
of the agency to serve as emergency management planner for the |
|
|
agency. |
|
|
(c) An emergency management planner designated by a state |
|
|
agency shall: |
|
|
(1) prepare and keep current an emergency management |
|
|
plan for the agency; and |
|
|
(2) annually complete the training prescribed by the |
|
|
division under this section. |
|
|
(d) The division shall develop and provide a training course |
|
|
related to emergency management planning. The division shall |
|
|
provide a certificate of completion to a person who completes the |
|
|
training course required by this section. |
|
|
(e) A person who completes the training required by this |
|
|
section is exempt from the training required under Section 418.005, |
|
|
if applicable. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
