A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to reporting regarding veterans treatment court programs. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 124, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Section 124.007 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 124.007. REPORT. Not later than December 1 of each |
|
|
year, the Texas Veterans Commission shall report the following |
|
|
information for the preceding state fiscal year to the governor, |
|
|
the lieutenant governor, the speaker of the house of |
|
|
representatives, and each member of the legislature: |
|
|
(1) the number of defendants who: |
|
|
(A) participated in each veterans treatment |
|
|
court program; |
|
|
(B) successfully completed each program; and |
|
|
(C) did not successfully complete each program; |
|
|
and |
|
|
(2) the amount of grant funding received by each |
|
|
program. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
