A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
relating to duties of the Department of Family and Protective |
|
Services to provide training regarding trauma-informed programs |
|
and services. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Section 264.015, Family Code, is amended by |
|
adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|
(d) The commissioner of the department shall adopt rules |
|
necessary to implement this section, including definitions of |
|
"trauma" and "trauma-informed care," using a negotiated rulemaking |
|
process under Chapter 2008, Government Code. |
|
SECTION 2. Not later than December 1, 2019, the |
|
commissioner of the Department of Family and Protective Services |
|
shall adopt rules in accordance with Section 264.015(d), Family |
|
Code, as added by this Act. |
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
