A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

|
relating to industrial solid waste generated in a foreign country. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. The heading to Section 361.0235, Health and |
|
|
Safety Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 361.0235. HAZARDOUS WASTE AND INDUSTRIAL SOLID WASTE |
|
|
GENERATED IN FOREIGN COUNTRY. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 361.0235(a), Health and Safety Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(a) Except as otherwise provided by this section, a person |
|
|
may not receive, transport, or cause to be transported into this |
|
|
state, for the purpose of treatment, storage, or disposal in this |
|
|
state, hazardous waste or Class I industrial solid waste generated |
|
|
in a country other than the United States. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
