A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the award of grants from the skills development fund. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 303.003, Labor Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (b-3) to read as follows: |
|
|
(b-3) Funds awarded under this section, other than funds |
|
|
awarded under Subsection (b-2), may be awarded only to support |
|
|
job-training purposes that address the needs of high-demand |
|
|
occupations, as identified by: |
|
|
(1) the applicable local workforce development board's |
|
|
regional targeted or high-demand occupations list; or |
|
|
(2) the commission's most recent growth occupations |
|
|
report under Section 302.019. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
