A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to a bill of rights for home health care attendants |
|
|
employed at certain long-term care facilities. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 531, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 531.0586 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 531.0586. BILL OF RIGHTS FOR HOME HEALTH CARE |
|
|
ATTENDANTS AT CERTAIN LONG-TERM CARE FACILITIES. (a) The |
|
|
commission, in collaboration with the Texas Workforce Commission, |
|
|
shall prepare and publish on the commission's Internet website a |
|
|
bill of rights for home health care attendants employed by a |
|
|
long-term care facility licensed under Chapter 103, Human Resources |
|
|
Code, or Chapter 242, 247, 248A, or 252, Health and Safety Code. |
|
|
(b) The bill of rights must include a description of any |
|
|
federal or state labor laws applicable to home health care |
|
|
attendants. |
|
|
(c) A facility described by Subsection (a) must provide each |
|
|
home health care attendant employed by the facility with a copy of |
|
|
the bill of rights. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
