A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to an amendment to the Medicaid state plan for certain |
|
|
entities. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 531, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 531.021 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 531.021. MEDICAID STATE PLAN AMENDMENT REQUIRED. |
|
|
(a) Not later than December 31, 2019, the commission shall submit |
|
|
to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services an amendment to |
|
|
the Medicaid state plan designed to enhance the funding of and |
|
|
services provided by non-governmental private teaching hospitals |
|
|
in this state. |
|
|
(b) This section expires on January 1, 2020. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
