A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to a study of the best practices of river authorities. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. (a) The Texas Water Development Board shall |
|
|
conduct a study of the best practices of river authorities. The |
|
|
study must address at least an authority's: |
|
|
(1) pre-release policies; |
|
|
(2) gauging; and |
|
|
(3) alert systems. |
|
|
(b) Not later than December 1, 2020, the Texas Water |
|
|
Development Board shall submit to the governor, the lieutenant |
|
|
governor, and the speaker of the house of representatives a report |
|
|
on the findings of the study. |
|
|
(c) This section expires January 1, 2021. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
