A JOINT RESOLUTION
|
|
proposing a constitutional amendment to allow the transfer of a dog |
|
used for county law enforcement purposes to the dog's handler on the |
|
dog's retirement. |
|
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Article III, Texas Constitution, is amended by |
|
adding Section 52l to read as follows: |
|
Sec. 52l. On the retirement of a dog owned and used by a |
|
county for law enforcement purposes, the county may transfer |
|
ownership of the dog to the dog's handler at no cost to the handler. |
|
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be |
|
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 5, 2019. |
|
The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the |
|
proposition: "The constitutional amendment to allow the transfer |
|
of a dog used for county law enforcement purposes to the dog's |
|
handler on the dog's retirement." |
