SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 112
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Willis Johnson, who is being honored with a Dallas |
|
|
Business Journal Lifetime Achievement Award on February 12, |
|
|
2019, at the Minority Business Leaders Awards Luncheon; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Dallas Business Journal Lifetime Achievement |
|
|
Award is presented to a business leader who has met notable |
|
|
success over the span of his or her career; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Willis Johnson earned a bachelor's degree in |
|
|
business communication from East Texas State University, and he |
|
|
went on to forge an impressive career in radio broadcasting and |
|
|
marketing; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, As a morning show host with Service Broadcasting |
|
|
Corporation, Willis shared his unique perspective with Dallas |
|
|
listeners and served as a program director for 30 years; from |
|
|
1994 to 1999, he served as executive producer of IMPACT, a |
|
|
nationally syndicated show that served 65 markets; today, he is |
|
|
the chief executive officer of JBJ Marketing in Dallas, where he |
|
|
directs all business operations and prepares the company's |
|
|
promotional events; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Willis is known for his tireless drive for |
|
|
success, which propels him to continually seek out new |
|
|
opportunities for himself and his clients; he has appeared on |
|
|
national television shows and has received numerous accolades |
|
|
for his success as a businessman, and he can indeed take pride in |
|
|
his many professional accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend Willis Johnson on his exceptional |
|
|
career and congratulate him on being honored with a Dallas |
|
|
Business Journal Lifetime Achievement Award; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
