SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 169
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Daniel Taylor for his exceptional accomplishments and
  his invaluable leadership throughout West Texas in the field of
  agriculture; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Blum, Texas, Daniel Taylor attended Texas
  Tech University in Lubbock, where he earned undergraduate and
  graduate degrees in agricultural education; and
         WHEREAS, Daniel began serving his community as an
  agriculture sciences teacher at Lubbock Cooper High School in
  Woodrow, Texas, and he went on to distinguish himself as a highly
  respected entrepreneur and leading agricultural figure in West
  Texas; and
         WHEREAS, In 1975, he became the owner and operator of
  Buster's Gin and of Taylor Farms, a cotton farming operation; he
  sold the gin after 34 years of providing high-quality service to
  its customers, and today, he continues to own Taylor Farms; since
  2009, he has served as president and manager of DLT Enterprises,
  Incorporated, an agricultural investments and land management
  company with locations in eight West Texas counties; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Taylor has served on the boards of numerous
  civic and professional associations, and he is a past chairman of
  the Texas FFA Foundation Board; he has volunteered his time as a
  member of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce and the Lubbock Economic
  Council, and he served as trustee for the Ropes Independent School
  District for 12 years; he is also a past president and current
  member of the Ropes Lions Club, and he remains a faithful member of
  Ropesville United Methodist Church; and
         WHEREAS, Daniel Taylor has been recognized on numerous
  occasions for professional and civic excellence, and in 2014, he
  was honored with the Texas Agriculture Lifetime Leadership
  Award; he is a treasured Texan, and his service as a leading West
  Texas citizen will continue to benefit the region long into the
  future; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
  Legislature, hereby commend Daniel Taylor on his outstanding
  career and on his many contributions to West Texas and extend to
  him best wishes in all his endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
