SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 235
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Glen L. Rekeweg
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Glen L. Rekeweg, who died December 30,
  2018, at the age of 78; and
         WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and generous spirit,
  Glen Rekeweg was an exemplary citizen, and he inspired those who
  knew him through his commitment to service on behalf of his
  fellow man; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Rekeweg was a member of the Kingwood
  Volunteer Fire Department, and he also served as a member of the
  Atascocita Fire Department; he bravely managed the duties of a
  firefighter, and he was respected and admired by his colleagues
  and area citizens; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Glen shared 29 years of
  marriage with Alice Rekeweg, and he was blessed with three
  children, James, Suzanne, and David, and with three
  grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Glen actively served the Republican Party at
  local, state, and national levels, and he was an avid ham radio
  operator; he was a longtime member of Christ the King Lutheran
  Church; and
         WHEREAS, Glen Rekeweg was a beloved member of the
  community, and he leaves behind memories that will long be
  cherished by all who were privileged to share in his life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Glen L. Rekeweg; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Glen Rekeweg.
