SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 337
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize William Henry Peckham III on the grand occasion of his
  90th birthday; and
         WHEREAS, William Peckham was born on March 11, 1929, in
  Houston; his distinguished family tree includes many notable
  state and national leaders, among them United States Supreme
  Court Justice Rufus Wheeler Peckham; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Peckham enjoyed a long and productive career
  as an entrepreneur; his professional experience encompasses
  ownership of several businesses, including the Hamm's Beer
  Distributing Company in Fort Bend County, West End Lumber,
  Peckhamhurst Farm, and Round Rock Travel and Tours, a business
  that was named Round Rock Small Business of the Year in 2015 and
  is now owned by his son; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Peckham has been blessed with a wonderful
  family; his five children, 11 grandchildren, and five
  great-grandchildren are a source of great pride and joy; and
         WHEREAS, A true Renaissance man, Mr. Peckham has played
  basketball against the Harlem Globetrotters, owned and cared for
  an array of exotic animals, and found notable success in the
  horse-racing community; he is a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow and a
  member of the Sons of the American Revolution; and
         WHEREAS, He has lived in Round Rock since 1982 and is a
  respected and beloved member of the community, and his birthday
  is indeed cause for celebration among his many friends and loved
  ones; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
  Legislature, hereby recognize William Henry Peckham III as a
  treasured citizen of the Lone Star State and extend to him
  congratulations on his 90th birthday; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as a memento of this special day.
