SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 351
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the Military Ministry of Our Lady of Perpetual Help
  Catholic Church in Selma, Texas, a Christ-centered ministry of
  parishioners serving the spiritual and personal needs of members
  of the military, veterans, and their families; and
 
         WHEREAS, The Military Ministry was founded in July 2011 and
  now consists of more than 200 active members, composed of
  veterans and non-veterans alike; and
 
         WHEREAS, The Military Ministry participates in funerals of
  deceased parishioners who are veterans at the request of their
  families; and
 
         WHEREAS, The church recognizes all military personnel and
  their spouses at each Mass on the second weekend of the month, and
  they are honored at a fellowship social afterwards; and
 
         WHEREAS, The Military Ministry maintains a photographic
  recognition board, proudly displayed in the pastoral center,
  that depicts all members of the armed forces who are in some
  manner connected with the church; and
 
         WHEREAS, The ministry plays an active role in Veterans Day
  and Memorial Day programs in the greater San Antonio community;
  now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
  Legislature, hereby congratulate Our Lady of Perpetual Help
  Catholic Church Military Ministry for its great success in
  serving the religious and spiritual needs of military members,
  veterans, and their families; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Military
  Ministry as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
