Catherine Ann Berry |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|
|
commemorates the life of Catherine "Katy" Ann Berry, who died |
|
|
November 4, 2017, at the age of 61; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Katy Berry was born on June 14, 1956, to Lawrence |
|
|
and June Berry; she graduated from the Loretto Academy in |
|
|
1974; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, She furthered her studies at The University of |
|
|
Texas at El Paso, where she earned both a bachelor's degree and a |
|
|
master's degree; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Katy enjoyed a long and rewarding career in |
|
|
education; she worked for 17 years as a kindergarten teacher at |
|
|
Saint Raphael's Catholic School, and she devoted the last 10 |
|
|
years of her career counseling the students in the Ysleta |
|
|
Independent School District; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Katy was the devoted mother of two daughters, and |
|
|
her grandson was a source of great pride and joy; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An active and engaged citizen, Katy was a member |
|
|
of the Junior League of El Paso, the Trans Pecos Counseling |
|
|
Association, and the ACTS ministry; she enjoyed traveling, and |
|
|
she cherished time spent with her family and friends; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Katy Berry was a source of strength to those who |
|
|
knew her and was noted for her loving nature and her boundless |
|
|
generosity; she was beloved by many, and she will long be |
|
|
remembered with respect and admiration by all who were privileged |
|
|
to share in her life; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|
|
family of Catherine Ann Berry; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|
|
Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|
|
memory of Katy Berry. |
