SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 459
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Catherine Ann Berry
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Catherine "Katy" Ann Berry, who died
  November 4, 2017, at the age of 61; and
         WHEREAS, Katy Berry was born on June 14, 1956, to Lawrence
  and June Berry; she graduated from the Loretto Academy in
  1974; and
         WHEREAS, She furthered her studies at The University of
  Texas at El Paso, where she earned both a bachelor's degree and a
  master's degree; and
         WHEREAS, Katy enjoyed a long and rewarding career in
  education; she worked for 17 years as a kindergarten teacher at
  Saint Raphael's Catholic School, and she devoted the last 10
  years of her career counseling the students in the Ysleta
  Independent School District; and
         WHEREAS, Katy was the devoted mother of two daughters, and
  her grandson was a source of great pride and joy; and
         WHEREAS, An active and engaged citizen, Katy was a member
  of the Junior League of El Paso, the Trans Pecos Counseling
  Association, and the ACTS ministry; she enjoyed traveling, and
  she cherished time spent with her family and friends; and
         WHEREAS, Katy Berry was a source of strength to those who
  knew her and was noted for her loving nature and her boundless
  generosity; she was beloved by many, and she will long be
  remembered with respect and admiration by all who were privileged
  to share in her life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Catherine Ann Berry; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Katy Berry.
