Samuel Lee Sherman |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|
|
commemorates the life of Samuel Lee Sherman, who died January 13, |
|
|
2019, at the age of 77; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Samuel Sherman was born on April 8, 1941, in |
|
|
McNeil, Arkansas, to John and Fannie Sherman; he graduated from |
|
|
a school in the McNeil Independent School District, and he |
|
|
attended a trade school for diesel mechanics in Sand Springs, |
|
|
Oklahoma; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, He moved to San Antonio and met and married Hattie |
|
|
Andrews; the couple was blessed with six children, Lynn |
|
|
Hutchinson, Samuel Sherman, Diannah Sherman, Carl Sherman, and |
|
|
the late Earl Hutchinson and Richard Sherman; his many |
|
|
grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a source of much |
|
|
pride and joy for him; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Sherman enjoyed a successful career as the |
|
|
owner and operator of S and L Automotive Shop in San Antonio; a |
|
|
devout Christian who practiced his faith in his daily life, he |
|
|
was a member of Rising Star Baptist Church and later, of Mount |
|
|
View Church of Christ; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and generosity, he |
|
|
gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued |
|
|
counsel will not be forgotten; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, He was devoted to his large and loving extended |
|
|
family,andheleavesbehindmemoriesthatwillbetreasured |
|
|
forever by all who were privileged to share in his life; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|
|
family of Samuel Lee Sherman; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|
|
Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|
|
memory of Samuel Lee Sherman. |
