SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 499
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Samuel Lee Sherman
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Samuel Lee Sherman, who died January 13,
  2019, at the age of 77; and
         WHEREAS, Samuel Sherman was born on April 8, 1941, in
  McNeil, Arkansas, to John and Fannie Sherman; he graduated from
  a school in the McNeil Independent School District, and he
  attended a trade school for diesel mechanics in Sand Springs,
  Oklahoma; and
         WHEREAS, He moved to San Antonio and met and married Hattie
  Andrews; the couple was blessed with six children, Lynn
  Hutchinson, Samuel Sherman, Diannah Sherman, Carl Sherman, and
  the late Earl Hutchinson and Richard Sherman; his many
  grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a source of much
  pride and joy for him; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Sherman enjoyed a successful career as the
  owner and operator of S and L Automotive Shop in San Antonio; a
  devout Christian who practiced his faith in his daily life, he
  was a member of Rising Star Baptist Church and later, of Mount
  View Church of Christ; and
         WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and generosity, he
  gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued
  counsel will not be forgotten; and
         WHEREAS, He was devoted to his large and loving extended
  family,andheleavesbehindmemoriesthatwillbetreasured
  forever by all who were privileged to share in his life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Samuel Lee Sherman; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Samuel Lee Sherman.
