SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 579
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Naason Joaquin Garcia on the grand occasion of his 50th
  birthday; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Naason
  Garcia was born May 7, 1969; he was baptized at the age of 14, and
  he was drawn to a life of spiritual service while still an
  adolescent; and
         WHEREAS, Naason began sharing his faith as a youth
  evangelist in the metropolitan area of Guadalajara, and he went
  on to serve with missionaries in Spain; he began pastoring in
  1986, when he was asked to become a youth leader at the Church of
  the Beautiful Province; and
         WHEREAS, During his 28 years of pastoral leadership,
  Naason ministered to congregations in Arizona and California; he
  also served as director of the Northern Jurisdiction of the Light
  of the World Church in Mexico, and he organized the Communication
  Center Berea USA to share the church's most important events via
  video stream; and
         WHEREAS, in 1992, Naason married Alma Zamora Espinoza, and
  he was blessed with three children, Adoraim, Eldai, and Sibma; and
         WHEREAS, A man of wisdom and strength, Naason Garcia is a
  beloved Christian leader and a respected advocate for human
  rights and religious freedom; his birthday is indeed cause for
  celebration among his many friends and loved ones; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
  Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to Naason Joaquin
  Garcia on his 50th birthday; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as a memento of this special day.
