SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 593
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Tim Brown, who is retiring as president and chief
  executive officer of the Methodist Children's Home on June 30,
  2019, after 36 years of service to the organization; and
         WHEREAS, The Methodist Children's Home in Waco provides
  residential services, transitional living services, and in-home
  services to more than 5,000 individuals in Texas and New Mexico
  each year; Tim Brown has served the organization in several
  capacities during his long career, and he is retiring after nine
  years of distinguished leadership as executive director; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Brown began supporting the Methodist
  Children's Home's mission as a home parent in 1971; he went on to
  become a recreational coordinator, and he rose through the ranks
  to serve in several leadership positions before stepping in as
  executive director in 2010; and
         WHEREAS, During his tenure as director, Mr. Brown
  initiated a strategic planning process that strengthened the
  agency's position as a national leader in residential child care;
  this process led to a master plan for 11 new residential homes on
  the historic Waco campus that have drawn the attention of child
  care agencies throughout the nation; the ministry has been
  recognized by the top charity oversight organization as a
  four-star entity, the highest designation attainable; and
         WHEREAS, Tim Brown has been a tireless advocate for
  vulnerable children and young adults; he is a man of exceptional
  compassion, and his invaluable expertise has set the Methodist
  Children's Home on a course for continued growth and success;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
  Legislature, hereby commend Tim Brown for his many contributions
  to the community and his exemplary leadership of the Methodist
  Children's Home and extend to him best wishes for the future;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
