SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 639
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The San Antonio Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi |
|
|
Fraternity, Inc., has demonstrated an admirable commitment to |
|
|
helping youth reach their full potential through its Guide Right |
|
|
Program; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Guide Right, Kappa Alpha Psi's national service |
|
|
program, was created to help young people benefit from the training, |
|
|
experience, and life lessons of their successful elders; |
|
|
participants in the program have the opportunity to take part in |
|
|
activities that are designed to assist them with building |
|
|
cooperative skills, improving their academic readiness for college, |
|
|
and gaining a deep appreciation for community service; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The chapter has reached out to young people |
|
|
through its collaborative partnerships with the Alamo Diamonds |
|
|
basketball teams and Big Brothers Big Sisters and through its |
|
|
First Responders-Cohorts for Life program; these initiatives |
|
|
provide youth with challenging and rewarding experiences that |
|
|
enrich their lives and offer opportunities to develop their |
|
|
leadership abilities; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through its Guide Right Program, the San Antonio |
|
|
Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., has made a |
|
|
profound impact in the lives of countless young people in San |
|
|
Antonio, and the chapter's members may take pride in their |
|
|
exemplary efforts to encourage and support the leaders of |
|
|
tomorrow; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend the members of the San Antonio Alumni |
|
|
Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., for their dedication |
|
|
to helping young people through the Guide Right Program and |
|
|
extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the chapter as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas Senate. |
