SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 731
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Andrea McWilliams, who has recently been named the 2019
  Texas Businesswoman of the Year by the Women's Chamber of
  Commerce of Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Andrea McWilliams is a national political
  commentator and a renowned lobbyist who is noted for her ability
  to combine grace with grit and patience with persuasion; she is
  respected for her unique expertise drawn from her experience in
  both the public and private sectors, and she is a leading figure
  in the Austin community and a well-known philanthropist; and
         WHEREAS, Andrea has received national acclaim from FOX
  News, the Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, USA Today, CNN, the BBC,
  and NPR for her role as a skilled political strategist and her
  work as a top fund-raiser; and
         WHEREAS, In 2017, she was the lobbyist profiled along with
  Governor Greg Abbott, Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, and
  Speaker of the House Joe Straus in Texas Monthly's "POWER"
  feature, which highlighted some of the most powerful people at
  the Texas Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, She has received the Austin Under 40 Award, and
  the Austin American-Statesman honored her as a member of its
  Glossy 8 list and named her to its "All-Stars" Fortunate 500
  list; and
         WHEREAS, Andrea McWilliams also has served as a board
  member for many nonprofit organizations, a number of which focus
  on preserving Austin's past and architectural and historical
  landmarks; and
         WHEREAS, She is the cofounder, along with her husband,
  Dean, of McWilliams Governmental Affairs Consultants,
  Incorporated, and she is a loving mother who raises her three
  children in a historic home in Old Enfield; a breast cancer
  survivor, Andrea McWilliams is a strong and influential voice on
  behalf of the cancer community, and she provides support and
  inspiration to other young women with her story of hard work and
  endurance; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
  Legislature, hereby commend Andrea McWilliams on her exceptional
  achievements and her invaluable contributions to the community
  and extend to her congratulations on her selection as the Texas
  Businesswoman of the Year; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
