SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 827
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Austin Morrison, who is being commissioned as an
  officer in the United States Marine Corps on May 30, 2019; and
 
         WHEREAS, Austin Morrison is receiving this honor after
  having completed the Officer Candidates School Platoon Leaders
  Course in 2017 and graduating from Officer Candidates School in
  2018; and
 
         WHEREAS, He was a member of the Reserve Officers' Training
  Corps at Southwestern University, where he majored in physics and
  was captain of the cross country and track and field teams; he was
  three times a member of the Southern Collegiate Athletic
  Conference Academic Honor Roll, and he received the Director of
  Athletics Academic Excellence Award; and
 
         WHEREAS, By becoming an officer in the United States armed
  forces, Austin is joining the long line of men and women whose
  service and sacrifice have been invaluable to this nation; it is
  truly fitting that he receive special recognition as he begins
  this rewarding new stage in his life; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
  Legislature, hereby commend Austin Morrison on his commitment to
  service on behalf of his country and extend to him best wishes for
  success as an officer in the United States Marine Corps; and, be
  it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
