HB70 by González, Mary (Relating to a strategic plan goal by the Department of Agriculture to prevent crop diseases in this state.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Agriculture Code to require the Department of Agriculture (TDA) to develop a strategic plan to prevent crop diseases in the state. The plan would require TDA to improve its management practices concerning crop diseases, increase its activities directly related to crop disease prevention, better monitor instances of crop diseases, and provide education regarding crop diseases. Based on the analysis of TDA, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
