No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code by adding two new mental state requirements in order to create a civil and criminal liability for the disclosure or promotion of certain intimate visual materials. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration and the Comptroller of Public Accounts, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
This analysis assumes the provisions of the bill addressing felony sanctions for criminal offenses would not result in a significant impact on state correctional agencies.
