IN RE:
HB260 by Blanco (Relating to the creation of a cross-border motor vehicle traffic congestion web portal.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Transportation Code to require the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in collaboration with the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) to develop and maintain a publicly accessible cross-border motor vehicle traffic congestion web portal to provide information regarding motor vehicle traffic movement at ports of entry between Texas and the United Mexican States. The bill would authorize TxDOT to collaborate with other federal, state, and local governmental entities to develop and maintain the web portal.
Based on the information and analysis provided by TxDOT and TTI, it is assumed any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accommodated within TxDOT's existing federal and state highway planning, construction, and research funds.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
