No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Insurance Code relating to the use of clinical decision support software and laboratory benefits management programs in connection with the provision of clinical laboratory services to certain managed care plan enrollees. Based on information provided by the Texas Department of Insurance and Employees Retirement System, this analysis assumes that the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
 
According to the Health and Human Services Commission, there would be a fiscal impact to Medicaid associated with implementing the provisions of the bill; however, a specific estimate cannot be provided.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
