No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Labor Code to authorize a county or municipality to establish a local minimum wage. The authorization would extend to extraterritorial jurisdictions of municipalities.

Local Government Impact

According to the Texas Association of Counties, the bill would not have a fiscal impact to counties.

According to the Texas Municipal League, the bill would not have a significant fiscal impact to cities.
