No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Chapter 12 of the Health and Safety Code to require the Medical Advisory Board (MAB) to hold meetings in compliance with the Open Meetings Law as specified in Chapter 551, Government Code. The Department of State Health Services, which provides administrative support to MAB, determined that the provisions of the bill could be implemented using existing resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.
