HB353 by Blanco (Relating to law enforcement access to cell site information stored by certain entities providing wireless service to a wireless communications device.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to include cell site information to the list of electronic customer data held in electronic storage and provide a definition of cell site information. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration and the Department of Public Safety, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
 
The bill would take effect and apply only to a warrant issued on or after September 1, 2019.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
