No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The would amend the Government Code to add current and former United States attorneys and assistant United States attorneys to the list of public employees for whom rights of access to information are restricted. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, the Office of the Attorney General, and the Department of Criminal Justice, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, or September 1, 2019.
