IN RE:
HB433 by Shaheen (relating to the disclosure of public money spent by certain political subdivisions for lobbying activities in a comprehensive annual financial report.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Local Government Code to require certain political subdivisions and authorities to provide certain disclosures of funds spent to influence the outcome of legislation pending before the Legislature. The bill would provide that this disclosure must be made on any comprehensive financial report prepared by the political subdivision or authority.
Local Government Impact
According to the Texas Education Agency, the fiscal impact to school districts from the bill would be minimal because districts are already required to have an annual financial report.
Because the bill specifies that the disclosure would be made on an existing comprehensive financial report, the bill would have no significant fiscal impact on local jurisdictions.
