No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Penal Code to remove "knuckles" from a list of devices that may not be intentionally or knowingly possessed, manufactured, transported, repaired, or sold.
The bill would repeal a Class A misdemeanor.
According to the Office of Court Administration, the bill would not be anticipated to cause a significant revenue loss to the state.
Local Government Impact
A Class A misdemeanor is punishable by confinement in county jail for a term not to exceed one year and, in addition to confinement, an optional fine not to exceed $4,000. Lost revenue from reduced fines imposed and collected is not anticipated to have a significant fiscal impact.
According to the Office of Court Administration, the bill would not be anticipated to cause a significant revenue loss to local governments.
