No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill amends the Health and Safety Code to allow the disclosure of health related information to a mental health professional in addition to, or instead of to, medical professionals or law enforcement, and would clarify that the disclosing part need only have a food faith belief in the probability of imminent danger. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.
