IN RE:
HB487 by Deshotel (Relating to the issuance of specialty license plates for justices of the peace.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Subchapter E, Chapter 504 of the Transportation Code to require the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to issue specialty license plates for current Justices of the Peace in Texas.

Pursuant to Transportation Code §504.400, DMV would be required to issue, without an additional charge, no more than three sets of the specialty license plate authorized under Subchapter E. Based on the information provided by DMV, it is assumed any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
