The bill would amend the Transportation Code relating to the enforcement of commercial motor vehicle safety standards in certain counties. The bill would authorize the Department of Public Safety (DPS) to rescind this authority in certain circumstances.
According to DPS, no fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill could have a positive, significant fiscal impact to units of local government depending on the number of enforcement actions undertaken and the amount of fines imposed, however an estimate of this impact cannot be determined at this this time.
