March 11, 2019

TO:
Honorable Chris Turner, Chair, House Committee on Higher Education

FROM:

IN RE:
HB617 by Neave (Relating to a study and report by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board on the response by certain public and private institutions of higher education to reports of sexual assault at those institutions.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Higher Education Coordinating Board to conduct a study regarding the response by postsecondary institutions to reports of sexual assault committed against students enrolled at those institutions. Based on an analysis of the agency's response, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
