IN RE:
HB681 by Stephenson (Relating to the inclusion of territory of a municipality in a proposed county assistance district.), As Introduced
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Local Government Code to remove certain provisions allowing a municipality to exclude itself from a proposed county assistance district.
Local Government Impact
According to Ft. Bend County, estimated total revenue gains for the County from additional sales tax collected would begin at $1.0 million in fiscal year 2020 and rise to $1.5 million in fiscal year 2022. The County assesses this revenue gain as insignificant compared to the overall budget for the County and of moderate importance for affected departments of the County.
