IN RE:
HB731 by Hernandez (Relating to notice of arrest for certain activities occurring at property leased to a person operating a massage establishment.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Civil Practice and Remedies Code by providing that law enforcement may give written notice to the property owner within 14 days of an arrest for prostitution-related offenses at a leased property operating a massage parlor. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.

The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all members elected to each house, or on September 1, 2019.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
