The bill would amend Civil Practice and Remedies Code to provide that law enforcement give written notice to a property owner within 30 days of an arrest for prostitution-related offenses at a leased property operating a massage parlor. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all members elected to each house, or on September 1, 2019.
