IN RE: | HB734 by Huberty (Relating to the carrying of concealed or holstered handguns by certain handgun license holders attending a meeting of the board of trustees of a school district or the governing body of an open-enrollment charter school.), As Introduced |
The bill would amend the Penal Code as it relates to the carrying of concealed or holstered handguns by certain handgun license holders attending a meeting of the board of trustees of a school district or the governing body of an open-enrollment charter school. Under the provisions of the bill, defenses to prosecution would be available, in certain circumstances, for select weapons related offenses.
The Office of Court Administration and the Comptroller of Public Accounts indicate the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources. This analysis assumes the provisions of the bill addressing felony sanctions for criminal offenses would not result in a significant impact on state correctional agencies.
