No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to allow a health care facility located in a county with a population less than 30,000 to use telemedicine medical service to satisfy a Level IV trauma facility designation requirement. The bill would require the new allowance to be applicable only on or after January 1, 2020.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.
The Department of State Health Services and the Health and Human Services Commission indicate the provisions of the bill can be implemented within existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
